James joined Columbia Threadneedle Investments in 2013, initially in an investment role responsible for sourcing, analysing and transacting real estate assets for a number of pooled UK balanced funds. Prior to his appointment as Fund Manager, James completed over 260 investment transactions totalling over £2.3 billion.
James was promoted to Deputy Fund Manager of the Threadneedle Property Unit Trust (TPUT) in 2018 and to Fund Manager in 2020. He is responsible for the fund’s strategy, investment activity and performance.
In his role as Co-Head of Institutional UK Real Estate, James is responsible for leading efforts to diversify the UK Real Estate institutional fund range through the development of new strategies which are consistent with the longstanding Columbia Threadneedle investment approach.
James is a member of the Property Business Management Team and the ESG Steering Group.
Before joining the company, James worked in the UK Capital Markets team at JLL. James is a qualified member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). He graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Land Management from the University of Reading in 2006.
