- Strategies for DC schemes to adjust portfolios, optimising risk-adjusted returns and enhancing resilience
With barriers to investing in private markets eroding, DC schemes are increasingly looking to diversify their default proposition away from traditional asset classes. But in a DC context, building a diversified portfolio to achieve higher risk-adjusted returns and strengthen resilience may not be entirely straightforward. Asset allocation, implementation methods, cash management, valuation and risk management are among the key elements for Schemes and Trustees to consider.
With higher interest rates, scarcity of data, lower level of transparency, and potentially high dispersion of returns between private market asset classes and managers - we will look at the key aspects to consider in implementing a successful private markets proposition, and how DC schemes should position their portfolio to deliver on the expected excess returns from private markets.
