Founded in 2018, NextGen is fast becoming the home for the pensions industries industry’s leaders of tomorrow.
Run by a committee representing various industry professions, bodies and organisations (including the winners of the inaugural Professional Pensions Rising Star of the Year and Professional Pensions, Women in Pensions - Pensions Lawyer of the Year 2019), NextGen provides a platform and support system for the next generation of pension professionals, offering networking and educational events, as well as training and mentoring to over 350 members.
As well as providing value to its membership, NextGen also carries out industry research, with the hope of improving cognitive diversity industry-wide.
Our mission is to help everyone achieve a better income in retirement. We work to get more people and money into retirement savings, to get more value out of those savings and to build the confidence and understanding of savers.
We represent the defined benefit, defined contribution, master trust and local authority pension schemes that together provide a retirement income to 20 million savers in the UK and invest £1 trillion in the UK and abroad. Our members also include asset managers, consultants, law firms, fintechs and others who play an influential role in the the governance, investment, administration and management of people’s financial futures.
Founded in 1976, the Pensions Management Institute (PMI)is the UK’s largest and most recognisable professional body for employee beneﬁt and retirement savings professionals, supporting over 6,500 members in 32 countries.
PMI’s members, represented in 8 regions, are responsible for managing and advising some of the largest institutions in the world accounting for £1trillion invested in pensions. We promote excellence through a range of services for the beneﬁt of members, the wider economy and with over six million now saving as a result of automatic enrolment, society as a whole. The purpose of the Institute is “To set and promote standards of excellence and lifelong learning for employee beneﬁts and retirement savings professionals and trustees through qualiﬁcations, membership and ongoing support services ".
The Association of Consulting Actuaries has been established for over 65 years and draws its membership from individual consulting actuaries working in over 65 firms. It is the largest national grouping of consulting actuaries in the world and is a Full Member of the International Actuarial Association. The Association encourages the participation of younger members in the full range of its activities, including through its Younger Members Group
The SPP is the representative body for a wide range of providers of advice and services to work-based pension schemes and to their sponsors. The SPP’s Members’ profile is a key strength and includes accounting firms, solicitors, insurance companies, investment houses, investment performance measurers, consultants and actuaries, independent trustees and external pension administrators.
The SPP is the only body to focus on the whole range of pension related services across the private pensions sector and, through such a wide spread of providers of advice and services. It does not represent any particular type of provision or any one interested body or group. Many thousands of individuals and pension funds use the services of one or more of SPP’s Members, including the overwhelming majority of the 500 largest UK pension funds.
