Simon is a counsel in Linklaters pension funds group. Simon advises on all areas of pensions law, including de-risking and funding transactions such as buy-ins and buy-outs, the pensions aspects of complex and high profile public and private M&A transactions, and all day-to-day matters in relation to pension schemes.

Simon has a particular interest in investment matters, including illiquid investment solutions (such as secondary sales of pooled fund investments and solutions for illiquid investments as part of buy-ins and buy-outs), pooled fund investments, discretionary and fiduciary management, custody arrangements, derivative transactions and all aspects of ESG and TCFD compliance. In addition to pension trustees, Simon also advises collective investment funds and fund and investment managers on the terms of their investments with pension funds.

Simon sits on the Investment & DC Sub-Committee of the Association of Pension Lawyers and is a regular speaker at major industry events.
