Investment Conference 2024: Foundations for the Future

2024 has seen immense geopolitical development with elections and regime changes occurring across the world alongside the continuation and proliferation of war, both hot and cold. Markets have responded with increasing volatility as many believe that a more volatile and inflation prone macroeconomic environment is here to remain.

The
new Labour government has pledged to undertake a review of the pensions system and it remains to be seen whether this signals a sea change in legislation, or a continuation of the reforms made under the previous Conservative government. However, Labour has highlighted that it will consider the further steps needed to increase investment in UK markets in pursuit of the holy grail of economic growth.

DB surpluses have continued to climb and reach new records whilst DC schemes have increasingly taken advantage of initiatives aimed at increasing investment into more illiquid assets in private markets.

With all these developments it is now critical for trustees to understand how to best position their schemes to take advantage of the changing market conditions and pension funding in order to secure long term benefits for members.

Therefore, Professional Pensions invites you to attend the
Investment Conference 2024: Foundations for Future .

Alongside extensive networking opportunities this Central London event features a packed schedule with engaging sessions, panel discussions, case studies, fireside chats, and interviews, that equip you with tools and strategies for the evolving pensions investment landscape.

Sustainability

Professional Pensions is committed to the journey in becoming more sustainable. By using the guidelines set out by Ecovadis, we will be working towards the accreditation. The goal is to reduce paper consumption across events and improve recycling rates, curb food waste and alter menus with an aim to include locally sourced, organic produce. We have also committed to deliver carbon offsetting at events wherever possible and provide delegates with accessible venues. We will be closely evaluating each event and considering how we can improve in the following areas; energy, transport, water usage, recycling, economic and local environment/community.

Carbon Offsetting

Incisive Media have partnered with Ecosphere+ to ensure all our remaining greenhouse gas emissions are offset. Working with Ecosphere+, we calculate the emissions from all our events, including those from event operations, venues and delegates. We then purchase the equivalent number of carbon offset credits to counter-act our activities. These credits are supporting the protection of vital rainforest in Peru, by funding conservation work and creating sustainable sources of income for locals to minimise incentives for deforestation.
