Paul Craven Partners Ltd

Paul Craven is a well-known industry speaker and consultant on behavioural science - a topic he describes as “understanding how real people make real decisions in the real world.” Relatedly, Paul Craven Partners Ltd. offers workshops and training in investment sales psychology – how to be more influential and persuasive with your clients and prospects.

He has over three decades of experience in the asset management industry, with Schroders (1986-2003), PIMCO (2003-2007) and Goldman Sachs Asset Management (2007-2014). His roles have included portfolio management and business development. He was head of UK Institutional Business at Schroders and PIMCO, and head of European business at GSAM.

Since 2014 he has acted as an adviser to the investment committees of the £4bn Akzo Nobel and, until 2019, the £14bn British Steel pension schemes.

Paul also works with Behaviour Lab, a firm dedicated to using analytics and behavioural science to help fund managers apply behavioural techniques to improve their investment performance.

He is also a senior adviser to MosaicNED, a company which trains non-executive directors for fund boards, with a focus on group decision making and cognitive diversity.

Outside of work, Paul is an accredited magician and performer, and he is privileged to be a member of the exclusive Magic Circle where he was recently awarded the status of ‘Associate of the Inner Magic Circle, with Silver Star.’ He believes that his magic allows him to better understand how, in all areas of life -especially in business - our minds play tricks.
